Is this training PMA affiliated?

No, the training is not PMA affiliated. The reason for this is, for PMA affiliation we need to offer a 450 hour training that includes all the Pilates apparatuses. This training is specific to the Reformer and large group classes, with a dynamic fitness based approach. This is what we teach at Junction 9, this is our bread and butter.

Will this training allow me to teach Pilates anywhere other than Junction 9?

This is entirely up to the studio you are applying for. Junction 9 hires teachers with a range of teaching backgrounds and training. Other studios will only look for a specific Pilates training program. We strongly recommend this training to those who love our style of classes and want to teach at Junction 9! This training does not permit you to teach privates for rehabilitation purposes.

I am already a certified Pilates teacher. Should I take this training?

Any additional training offers an opportunity for further learning and growth as a teacher. This training will challenge you to think about the Reformer differently, and the approach to group fitness using the reformer. If you’re looking to challenge yourself and your current Pilates teaching this will be a great next step.

What happens if I miss training hours?

It is our expectation that you attend the training in full. If hours are missed due to unforeseen circumstances (and approved by the lead instructor), make up hours must be completed and will be charged at an hourly rate of $50. Make up hours will be done at a 1:2 ratio. For every 2 hours missed, 1 hour of make up will be required.
